Marijuana Addiction
The use of Illegal drugs in Britain are immense, out of all of them one of the most widely used is Marijuana. This is made from parts of the Cannabis plant, and it’s a naturally occurring drug. Marijuana, whilst often known as the ‘chilled out’ drug, causing sleepiness is also a mild hallucinogen whereby the user may experience a state whereby objects and reality can be seen in a distorted way. More common real-time effects of Cannabis are known to influence memory, thoughts, concentration, sensory and time perception, and also coordinated movement.
The longer term usage is influenced by a number of factors, including how much has been used, the length of time it has been used for and whether the user is just more prone to become reliant. A Cannabis user may find they have difficulty stopping regular use and could experience psychological and physical withdrawals. These withdrawals can include irritability, mood swings, a change in appetite, weight loss and difficulty sleeping.
Looking at the long term affects of a Cannabis/Marijuana user, numerous studies have shown marijuana smoke to contain carcinogens and to be an irritant to the lungs. In fact, Marijuana smoke contains 50 to 70 percent more carcinogenic hydrocarbons than tobacco smoke. Marijuana users usually inhale more deeply and hold their breath longer than tobacco smokers do, which further increases the lungs exposure to carcinogenic smoke.
The use of Marijuana has an increased risk of lung or oral cancer – Marijuana deposits in the lungs roughly five times as much tar as tobacco and contains nearly 50% more of the cancer-causing chemical benzopyrene than the average tobacco cigarette. The long term user also risks reproductive system damage, decreased sperm count, abnormal sperm cells, decreased production of estrogens and Menstrual or ovulate irregularities.
Research clearly reveals that marijuana has the potential to cause problems in daily life or make a person’s existing problems worse. In studies, heavy marijuana abusers reported that the drug impaired several important measures of life achievement including physical and mental health, cognitive abilities, social life, and career status. As for the effect Marijuana shows on several studies of associate workers, marijuana smokers show increased absences, tardiness and accidents within the employment company.
